Description

Custom Glass Panel with Mounting Holes

A glass panel with mounting holes is designed for applications where the glass needs to be mechanically fixed to an enclosure, frame or equipment housing.

The mounting holes are part of the mechanical design, so their position and dimensions need to match the corresponding screws, brackets, spacers or fixing points. We manufacture custom glass panels according to supplied drawings rather than using a fixed hole pattern.

The panel can be produced with different glass thicknesses, shapes, edge conditions and surface treatments. Additional CNC machining, printing and strengthening can also be specified when required.

CNC Glass Panel with Holes

Mounting holes in glass panels can be produced by CNC machining according to the required geometry.

The machining drawing should show the hole diameter, center position, edge distance and corner radius where applicable. For multiple mounting holes, the hole pattern and reference dimensions should also be clearly identified.

This information helps ensure that the finished glass panel fits the mechanical structure during assembly.

Glass Panel With Mounting Holes Position and Tolerance

For mounting applications, hole position can be just as important as hole diameter.

A panel may have several fixing points that need to align with threaded inserts, screws or mounting brackets. If one hole is displaced from its specified position, installation may become difficult even when the overall glass dimensions are correct.

For this reason, customers should indicate the relevant dimensional tolerances on the drawing. We can review the hole pattern together with the panel dimensions before production.

Glass Panel with Mounting Holes

Some equipment uses four or more fixing points around the perimeter of the glass panel.

We can process glass panels with multiple mounting holes according to the required hole pattern. Hole quantity, diameter, spacing and position can be customized for the enclosure design.

Where the panel includes different hole sizes, slots or cut-outs, these features can be included in the same CNC machining drawing.

Glass Panel with Countersunk or Special Holes

Some mechanical assemblies require more than a standard through-hole.

Depending on the glass and application, drawings may specify special hole geometries, recessed areas or other machining features. These requirements should be provided before production so that the suitable machining method can be evaluated.

For applications using screws directly against the glass, the fixing method should also be reviewed to avoid excessive localized stress around the mounting holes.

Chemically Strengthened Glass Panel with Mounting Holes

Mounting holes introduce openings into the glass panel, making the area around the holes an important part of the mechanical design.

For applications requiring improved resistance to handling and mechanical stress, chemically strengthened glass with mounting holes can be considered.

The appropriate glass type, thickness and strengthening process depend on the panel dimensions, hole geometry and application. These specifications should be evaluated together rather than selected independently.

Printed Glass Panel with Mounting Holes

Mounting holes can be combined with screen printing when the panel also functions as a visible control or interface surface.

Printing may include:

  • Black borders
  • Button symbols
  • Text
  • Logos
  • Indicator markings
  • Position references

The drawing can show both the CNC features and printed areas so that the mechanical and visual requirements are considered together.

Surface Treatments for Glass Panel with Mounting Holes

AR, AG AF coatings for Glass Panel with Mounting Holes

A glass panel with mounting holes may be exposed to strong lighting, frequent touching or demanding viewing conditions.

Depending on the application, surface treatments can include:

AG (Anti-Glare): Helps reduce distracting reflections from surrounding light.

AR (Anti-Reflective): Reduces reflected light for applications where display visibility is important.

AF (Anti-Fingerprint): Helps reduce visible fingerprints and makes frequently touched surfaces easier to clean.

Surface treatment requirements should be specified together with the glass drawing and final application.
