Cover Glass for Touch Screen Tempering Process

The glass tempering methods including chemical strengthening & thermally tempered as mentioned above, but do you know differences between them and in house or not? Let me tell you:

✔Chemical strengthening, it uses ion exchange principle larger sodium ions replace by smaller potassium ions in molten salt generating compressive stress layer on surface against cracks and impact.

Why I said different in house or 3rd party? It’s because the cost(time, around 6H) for strengthening process is quite high, some suppliers may shorten the time to save cost but hardness reduced.

In Weiman, we will offer inspection report including CS / DOL to tell you the test result of strengthening result which can’t be seemed by eye.

✔Themerlly tempering, it uses high temperature( around 600 celsius) + strong wind blow to change the glass structure, which makes the glass 5-6 times stronger than normal glass.

If you met problem suppliers, they may use half tempering intead of full tempering due to cheaper, the glass became harder but not the safety glass.

In Weiman, we offer test report of particle test / IK test to verify the glass safety and hardness.

So all process done in house, we could offer you stable tempering result instead of batch differences.

Cover Glass for Touch Screen Silkscreen Print Process

From picture below, did you find the difference in silkscreen print?

Yes, low quality silkscreen print maybe a cheaper option but really destroy whole batch products!

From picture, we can find 3 problems and tell you why they happen:

1.The screen location not precise, which make the border isn’t straight, it usually happen in weak experience print workers.

2.The pin hole, it usually happen with screen with dirt or other foreign stuff stack in screen, which ink couldn’t print on glass correctly.

So in daily print works, timely clean the screen is important work.

3.Uneven paint on glass usually happen with percentage of ink agent incorrect.

Cover Glass for Touch Screen Coatings

In cover glass, there are usually refers to 3 kinds of coating: AR(Anti reflection), AG(Anti glare) and AF(Anti fingerprint), also called 3A in glass processing industry.

Below picture tells the differences.

✔To AR, there are different optical requirements which makes the coating green tone or purple tone.

✔To AG, there are 3 kinds of treatments including AG film, acid etching and printing, different method have different cost.

✔To AF, there are 2 kinds of treatments including plating(higher cost but durable) and spray(cheaper but less durable).

If you don’t know differences in every kinds of coatings, you will pay high prices but poor quality. More importantly, it can destroy whole products.
