The front glass applied in smart door lock and other smart home appliances, it greatly enhance grade of the product.
Starts from acrylic to glass, nowadays the glass already became indispensable part in smart home control system.

What material we should choose for front glass?
The first choice of glass raw material is the extra clear glass(Click here for more information), from side view it’s white instead of greenish(clear glass).
In this case, there’s very few impact in color change when printing, the cost won’t be much higher than clear glass.
In Weiman, we use brandy glass substrates like AGC glass, Aluminosilicate, Gorilla Glass, Dragon Tail and Panda Glass for our customer free selection.

Edge Treatment
During assembly, the glass embedded into mating part we recommend matt edge and smaller chamfer to reduce the process cost and uniform between edge and mating part.
In case the edge expose outside, we recommend polish edge for straight version or 2.5D polish edge(Click here for more information).
Coatings
To enhance the clean of front glass, we recommend our customers to add AF coating(Click here for more information).
To the front glass applied in door lock, the frequency of touch by finger will be much more than usual, AF coating provides surface hardness increase, anti fingerprint and clean.
Meanwhile, we could also provide AG(Anti glare) coating, which cause glass surface matt to allow customers pursue different texture.
To AR coatings, the purpose is to improve light transmittance around 3-4% single side, double sides with ultra clear glass up to 99%.

Printing
Except regular printing, we can also provide silk screen print in semi-transparent black, which looks uniform black without backlight and numbers will show when lit.
Under this way, the grade of glass looks much higher than only leave it transparent.
Process
No matter the glass fit inside or outside mating part, tolerance is still very important for assembly.
To better control the tolerance, we will use laser(±0.02) for cutting first and then CNC for edge grinding.
